1991 Toyota Supra Engine Overheating Happens always Always

I would like to know what can be done to remedy this overheating problem. The engine is a 7MGTE. Is there any way I could put another engine like a 22R or ???in its place and if so how much trouble would it be. I have been told that the Supra engine has had this problem for along time and I am trying to find a low cost FIX that will last

Engine replacement is neither easy, nor inexpensive, unless you can do it yourself.
Even then a replacement engine is expensive.

The thermostat is an item to check.

Increase the cooling ability of the radiator, transmission cooling.

You can also add an extra fan.

On a long journey ATF gets blown out of gearbox fifteen litrs on a 400 km run but around town no problem then after about a year it did not kick in and became very sluggish now it dont move at all.
There are no switched on mechanics in zimbabwe where i live Toyota dealer wont touch it as it is a jap import all can rely on is my son in law who is a deisle Mechanic Me I am a mechanical no nothing please try to help with som advice particually on diagnstic codes.It is an automatic

I am not sure how much help the codes will be. If you cannot move at all (forward or reverse) and the fluid level is full, you should remove the transmission pan and check for debris.

What would be simplest is for you to download a free service manual for your vehice-

Yes Doug I did and downloaded it but it is to technical for me plus its over 1300 pages.
I could not find any referenc to my 1988cc engine it al refers to 3 litre jobs,I also forgot to mention that it has a low profile suspension and a lot of heat come from the underside when one stops.

according to my son in law it does ,although I am assuming you mean the terminal block front right in the engine compartment,standing in front of the car looking towards the rear.

hey guys I own a 1986 toyota supra with the non turbo motor, i am wondering what i need and how hard it will be to swap the motor to the 1jz-gte twin turbo or the 7m-gte single, is it possible and what do i need to do. Thanks guys

Other than the motor and transmission, clutch, springs,axles ,exhaust, bigger radiator and the wiring harness, little else.
If I were attempting this swap,(and I have done many swaps!) I would want the 'donor car' sitting in my shop!
Nowadays as I get older, I reconsider the sanity of such a swap! Probably easier to clean up your non turbo car, sell it and find the turbo one!
